The European Medical School Oldenburg- Groningen (EMS ) is a German-Dutch cooperation project between the Universities of Oldenburg and Groningen - and unique with this cross-national profile in Europe. The aim of the EMS is to break new ground in medical education. The teaching concept is practice-oriented and research-based - and provides the opportunity to train highly qualified doctors for the Northwest region.

Through the cooperation of the University of Oldenburg and the three hospitals - the Hospital , the Protestant Hospital and the Pius - Hospital - creates a new university medical facility in Oldenburg. This includes a supply gap in the region. Close cooperation with the Karl Jaspers Clinic in the area of ​​psychiatry and doctors in private practice are also important building blocks of the Oldenburg University Medical Center .
