Description
Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology (GMIT) is based at five locations in the west of Ireland. GMIT recently enhanced its marine research capacity through the development of the Marine and Freshwater Research Centre completed with refurbishment funding from the HEA.
The Strategic Marine Alliance for Research and Training (SMART) is housed within the centre, along with up to 30 postgraduate students and researchers.
The Strategic Marine Alliance for Research and Training (SMART) is a marine science partnership programme designed to further develop capacity in carrying out offshore operations on board research vessels for third level students of marine-related science and technologies.
