Dutch Translational Research IT - TraIT/ Lygature    Back

University accreditation does not apply to courses from this institution

The phenomenal size of the datasets produced in translational research programs and their distribution over different research laboratories and clinics require an informatics infrastructure that allows for a seamless integration and exchange of large amounts of data.

The Dutch Translational Research IT (TraIT) project was launched in October 2011 to address these informatics challenges in translational research. The project is organized as a public-private partnership aiming to organise, deploy and manage a nationwide IT infrastructure for data and workflow management targeted specifically at the needs of translational projects.

TraIT enables integration and querying of information across the four major domains of translational research: clinical, imaging, biobanking and experimental (any-omics). Scientists within multi-site projects should be able to share and disseminate data and analyses from these domains in the TraIT translational research space.

The project aims to adopt and adapt existing point solutions rather than embarking on major software development projects.

Professional training & support are available to enable medical researchers to use the software tools and work with the data efficiently.

The TraIT project is an initiative from the Center for Translational Molecular Medicine (CTMM). CTMM and TI Pharma have merged and continue as Lygature as of January 1st 2016.
